SURFGROMS
PROGRAM
The SurfGroms program
is an introductory Surf School program that caters for groms between 5-12 years.
SurfGroms consists of a series of either daily or weekly sessions encompassing a minimum of 6 hours of on-beach professional coaching.
We currently have 10 Surf Schools in QLD that facilitate this program.
BOARDRIDER CLUB
ROUNDS
Surfing Queensland currently has 45 affiliated Boardriders clubs along our coasts.
Clubs offer a nurturing and family friendly environment and are the breeding ground for our surfing stars of the future.
Most Boardrider clubs run monthly club rounds as an introduction/enhancement for competitive surfing.
JULIAN WILSON SERIOUS FUN
PROJECT
This invitational is hosted by Julian himself, this one-day event at Coolum Beach caters for a limited field of U14 & U16 boys and girls.

BEDE’s GROM
SHOOTOUT
Based at Ex World Championship Tour surfer, Bede Durbidge's home town of North Stradbroke, competitors will get the opportunity to compete at one of Queensland's premiere and pristine locations.

COOEE GROMMET
PRO
The last event of the year located in the Sunshine Coast. This event is a platform for young surfers to showcase their skills and secure points for their end of year rankings campaign.
It is also one of the few events to cater for our micro groms with an U/8 division through to U/16s.

GROM & JUNIOR STATE
TITLES
The Queensland Grom & Junior Surfing Titles is the qualification pathway for our state's elite junior competitors aiming for selection to represent QLD in the Australian Junior Titles.
Overall series winners will be based on competitors' best two-of-two results.

SQA DEVELOPMENT

GROMQUEST
The SQA Development Program is opened to any athlete who aspires to enhance their skills and knowledge in their earlier years to give them a head start in their surfing career.
The program runs in the first half of the year and includes U/8, U/10, U/12, U/14 & U/16's.

The Oceanside GromQuest was created with the purpose to add another event on the calendar to cater for our groms.
This jammed packed two-day event also has major prizes to give away.

SQA QLD STATE
PROGRAM
The SQA QLD State Program aims to develop or surfers skills, knowledge and camaraderie ahead of the Australian Junior Surfing Titles.
The team is selected from our top 6 U/14, U/16 & U/18 state winners from the Grom and Juniors titles.

COMP
The Occy Grom Comp is one of five 10,000 rated events in Australia. This event attracts renowned international competition from South Africa, USA, Japan, Indonesia, New Zealand & Tahiti to surf at the famous Snapper Rocks.

ENTRY PROCESS: Open to everyone on a waitlist basis. Entrants then seeded. Successful athletes are then invited.
AUSTRALIAN JUNIOR TITLES
The Parko Junior Pro is the biggest junior rated event in the Surfing Australia pathway.
Over 300+ of the nations best athletes come to the Sunshine Coast to compete in this 10,000 event.
RATING: 10,000
ENTRY PROCESS: Open to everyone on a waitlist basis. Entrants then seeded. Successful athletes are then invited.
This pinnacle event is rated 12,000 points for all individual division winners.
The U/16 & U/18 men & women winners will also earn a spot on the Irukanjis team to represent Australia at the ISA World Junior Championships.
